Web Design
Here you can find examples of the websites I've been involved in creating :
![]() www.planetclans.com |
This is a portal for clans for various online multiplayer games. I did all the programming whilst the main design was done by my mate Mokey. The basic premise of the site is that clans can register and add themselves to a large directory where they can then create a mini-site allowing them to post news, challenge other clans etc. The site incorporates various sub-domains for different games that are easily extensible via the MySQL database that drives the whole site. Other notable features include integrated forums that I wrote scripts to allow news to be pulled from to be displayed on the front pages of each sub-section. There's also a picture-of-the-day system that allows images to be uploaded by users that are then dynamically re-scaled. The whole site is run voluntary by a team of enthusiasts on a Linux server in a top-secret location :) |
![]() www.carolineengland.com |
If you've read the music section of my website you'll remember that Caroline used to be the singer in my band Crush. Now she has a solo career and came to me when she needed a website to publicise her career. The design is based on ideas we both had that reflected her personality - thus the flames and the orange colour-scheme reflect her fiery personality and the fact that she's a natural redhead :) To make maintenance as easy as possible I wrote scripts that allow Caroline to add gigs to a calendar, as well as post news and stories, via a web interface. The site also features an integrated MP3 'jukebox' that keeps track of her music as well as a dynamic gallery that automatically generates thumbnails from added content. |
![]() www.spiritclan.co.uk |
This is a website I designed for my Unreal Tournament clan called Spirit. It features a rather groovy animated intro I made using Macromedia Flash, which sets the mood for the theme of the web site. It's got a stylised, hi-tech design which is in keeping with the ethos of the game. Incorporated into the site is a full user logon system that allows members to add news events, post match results and update their member status. The site also features a database-driven Schedule system for arranging clan matches and can alert members via email about any forthcoming games. How elite is that? :) |
![]() courses.northwestworkplace.com |
NorthWest Learning is part of a very successful jobs and careers portal called NorthWest Workplace developed by Connect, the company I work for. Along with my colleague Darren Kirby I was responsible for creating the Learning section, which is built around a large Oracle database. It works across several domains and features some pretty complex queries that dynamically serves up courses for it's many users. |
If you ever need a website designing then I can be persuaded to help out :) Just contact me and I'm sure we can come to an arrangement.
