Diplo's Amazing Spam Resistant Email Generator
If you own a website and have your email address on it as a mailto: link then the chances are that spammers will spider your site and grab this address. Once that happens say hello to hundreds of spam emails. So how can you prevent this? Well, to make it more difficult for the spammers you can encode your email address using standard HTML character entities. This will make the email address look like a random string of numbers that will fool some spiders yet will still work fine in your webpage.
To help you encode an email address in this way I've written a little program to encode it. Just enter your email address in the box below and click submit. It will then re-output your encoded address in two boxes (which you can then cut'n'paste into your website HTML). It actually outputs two variations : the first is a standard mailto: link whilst the second is more secure as it uses JavaScript to further obfuscate your address. I also mix up the encoded characters, with some a random mix of hex and decimal entities (click reload for a new variation).
To encode your email address enter it below and click Submit.
Enter a valid email address above please.
